Today, we’re pleased to announce that Stew Gibson has joined Herald’s Advisory Board.
Stew recently retired as Chief Information Officer of USI Insurance Services, one of the largest insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the United States. During his 20 years at USI, he led the company’s enterprise technology strategy and operations, supporting approximately 10,500 employees across more than 200 offices. His responsibilities spanned technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and analytics, software development, digital platforms, acquisition integration, and the modernization of core brokerage capabilities. He also helped lead the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies across the organization, establishing the strategy, governance, and practical business use cases needed to apply AI responsibly within a large and highly regulated enterprise.
Few technology leaders have had as close a view into the operational realities of running and scaling a brokerage of USI’s size and complexity.
We’re especially grateful to welcome Stew because his relationship with Herald began well before this appointment. He first worked with Herald while serving as CIO of USI and was among the earliest industry leaders to understand and support what we were building. His perspective has already helped sharpen our thinking and strengthen our product, and we’re excited to continue working with him in this new capacity.
Herald exists to enable strategic placement at scale—giving commercial insurance brokerages an AI-enabled platform through which they can execute their placement strategy from end to end.
Delivering on that vision requires more than building great technology. It requires a deep understanding of how brokerages actually operate: where friction exists, how decisions are made, what technology leaders need from their partners, and what separates a promising demonstration from a platform that earns lasting adoption.
That is the perspective Stew brings.
Throughout his career, Stew evaluated, implemented, and scaled technology across a large and complex brokerage organization. He understands what meaningful adoption looks like, what it takes for a platform to become part of the day-to-day workflow, and how to build durable enterprise technology.
Having that judgment and experience in the room will be a meaningful advantage as Herald continues to grow.
“Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many talented technology companies and teams. Herald stands out for its deep understanding of the insurance brokerage industry, its thoughtful approach to solving a difficult problem, and its commitment to being a genuine partner to its customers. I’m excited to continue working with the team and to contribute to the company’s next stage of growth.”
